Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia or pregnancy induced hypertension (aka HOP) involves high blood pressure during pregnancy, which is often accompanied by oedema and protein in the urine, as well as specific liver enzyme and platelet readings. Preeclapmsia requires careful monitoring as it has the potential to develop into eclampsia, which places both the mother and unborn child in danger.  Often, rising blood pressure is the only sign that this condition is developing. Acupuncture can help control the symptoms of this serious condition, and prevent it from developing further.
